Overview

Starting your own affiliate program is one of the best ways to make a lot of additional sales by having your own "army" of resellers. There's just one thing that is needed: You must let your potential resellers know about your affiliate program! They need a description of what you are selling and how high the commissions will be which they can expect to get from you. Similar to getting your ezine listed in an ezine directory, you can list your affiliate program in so called affiliate program directories.

When affiliates are looking for niches to create new mini or content sites, they will search for suitable merchants in those directories. So you'd better make sure that you are listed there. The submission process has always been quite a tedious and time consuming task in the past. Therefore, a lot of merchants have used submission services until now. These services were not cheap and for each new affiliate program you had started, you had to hire and pay them their fee again which could soon add up if you are a very active developer of new products whether it is ebooks and other info products or software. Times have changed now... You can submit as many affiliate programs to the directories as you wish using our AffiliateTurbo and you'll have to pay for the program just ONCE! The program comes pre-loaded with 43 of these affiliate program directories. Just finding them could have taken you hours of your valuable time!

Affiliate Directories: Submit a Program

Once you have entered all the necessary details of your affiliate program into the affiliate programs section, it is very easy to get started: You just have to change into the directory view by clicking on "Affiliate Directories".
After doing this, you can click on the submit button and you will see something like in the screenshot above (but with more directories pre-entered). In the small window that has popped up, you can select which affiliate program (if you have entered multiple of them) you want to submit to the affiliate program directory which is highlighted in orange. The selected affiliate program which you want to submit will then be highlighted in orange as well. By clicking the submit button within the little popup window, the submission process is started. The program then changes to the built-in browser, opens the registration page of that affiliate directory and the necessary fields will then be automatically filled with your data.

All you have to do is select some values from drop-down menus or mark some checkboxes but no manual writing is required anymore. When you have done this, you just have to click the "submit" button on the registration page within the built-in browser and you're ready for the next directory. You can highlight the next directory by clicking with the left mouse button on it and you can start submitting to that directory. In the field "submitted" within the directory view, you can see how many of your affiliate programs already have been submitted to that directory. It is recommended to submit always just one affiliate program at a time to the directories so you don't mix up things. This avoids duplicate submissions to the same directories

The directories which require manual registration have been added to the end. You can still click on submit and the registration page will be opened in the built-in browser. Enter a login name and/or your password and click on the "continue" or "submit" button (or whatever is needed there). In most cases, you will get your details by email. This email will include the URL of the submission page for your affiliate program (Or you will be automatically forwarded to that page. If that is the case, go into the address bar and copy that URL).

Open this copied URL in your standard browser. Then you go back into the program and select the affiliate program view and click on the button "Edit". This way, all the detailed pieces of information about your affiliate program will show up. You can then go into each field individually and copy and paste the necessary details from the program fields into the required form fields within your standard browser. This process has to be repeated for each directory which has "requires manual registration" in the description field (9 directories).

Add a New Directory

In order to add an affiliate directory to the database, you'll have to click on the "add directory" button which is located at the bottom when you're in directory view. Then a new window will pop up in which you can enter the details of the new affiliate program directory. Possible entries are: Title, URL (root), submit page, description.
As you can see in the screenshot above, there are some more fields below those standard fields as each of these directories requires a different set of information about your affiliate program. For this reason, it is impossible to have a standard form which is valid for ALL of these directories. The fields which are listed there, are the ones which you'll have to fill out for your affiliate program. Now comes the hard part: As all of these directories are using different variables in their forms also, you would have to look up these variables and insert them indivuinto the field "variable" and mark the little checkbox so AffiliateTurbo knows that this piece of information about your affiliate program is required by the affiliate directory. You can see the variables by using the "view source" of your Internet browser.
Then you'll have to look for the form fields and select the ones which are required and write them into the "variable" fields of AffiliateTurbo. Unfortunately, there is no way of automating this task so if you want to be on the safe side, you can just wait until the next update is released. This will have the new directory database included. Pre-supposed you are sending us the new affiliate directories which you have found. Send your suggestions for new directories to: webmaster@affiliateturbo.com . As soon as at least 10 new directories have come up or have changed (e.g. non-existent anymore), a new version of the program will be released.

Edit existing directory

Clicking on the "edit" button will allow you to make changes to the affiliate program directory which is highlighted in orange, the moment you are clicking that button. It is the same small window which you were filling in when entering details about a new directory. You can edit anything you want and by clicking "ok" at the end, you will have saved the changes. All your entries and changes are saved automatically so there's no need for a menu which has a "save" or "save as" option included!

My Programs: Add a New Program

Adding a new affiliate program is as simple as clicking on the affiliate programs link on the left and then the add button at the bottom. A new window will open and there you can add all the details about your affiliate program including e.g. title, URL, keywords, category, description and your contact info. Clicking ok when you're done will save your entries. We tried to make the program is intuitive as possible so you shouldn't get into trouble finding out how to do certain things. In general, these are self-explanatory.

Edit existing program

Clicking on the "edit" button will allow you to make changes to the affiliate program which is highlighted in orange, the moment you are clicking that button. It is the same small window which you were filling in when entering details about a your new affiliate program (see above). You can edit anything you want and by clicking "ok" at the end, you will have saved the changes. All your entries and changes are saved automatically so there's no need for a menu which has a "save" or "save as" option included!

Internal Browser

The built-in browser can almost be used like your regular browser. It has a back button (arrow left), a forward button (arrow right), a stop button (white x in red cirle) and a refresh button which allows you to reload the current page (rounded arrows on new page symbol). You can also use the browser to surf to other sites than to the affiliate directories from the built-in database. Just enter the URL into the address field and click "Go" or use your "Enter" key on your keyboard.
